The energy supply for the UK has come under pressure due to recent instability in fuel supplies and the national energy market, and may be seen as a continuing energy crisis. This article accompanies the government advice on national power distribution.
The UK government has put in place a process to fairly distribute power nationally in the event of a shortfall of available fuel for power stations. This article should explain how to see which times of day any given energy customer may be affected in different circumstances.

If a prolonged electricity shortage affects a specific region, or the whole country, electricity rationing may be necessary. The Electricity Supply Emergency Code (ESEC) outlines the process for ensuring fair distribution nationally while still protecting those who require special treatment, using a process known as ‘rota disconnections’.
Scheduled power outages ('power cuts') are allocated in the rota in 3 hour blocks.
The process allocates citizens a number of codes, supplied at the time of billing, ensuring each group is serviced for approximately the same number of hours. This code is called 'Electricity Supply Emergency Code'.
A cost effective remedy is already available from Solar Service Solutions to ensure most energy customers continue to receive uninterrupted power and maintain business continuity.
The hardware for this is already being supplied in the form of the power storage module (battery) normally used to even (back-up) the power supply from solar PV panels or wind turbines. In normal operation a typical domestic house can serve occupants with this battery power as if on utility power for an evening.
This arrangement will cover the household's needs for any power cut of the expected length.
This system will bring peace of mind to any customer concerned with an escalating energy crisis from global warming while decarbonising the home help to solve climate change.
